Man City 3
Man Utd 1
A stunning goal by Marcus Rashford early on was not going to be enough to get something out of a derby in which we were not the favourites in any case. And I am not going to be popular with this one, but Rashford did everything wrong today after that wondergoal. He was clean through and missed placing the ball forward with his head to go on and score, completely missed the ball from a cross and then in the second half fell down easily when he needed to be strong in the contact to get on a one to one with the keeper.
Our opponents then got the draw and never looked back. One has to seriously question the tactics though. It is annoying to see the team venture forward only to pass the ball back from a potentially dangerous position. A goal difference of -2 at this stage of the season is unacceptable and so is not being able to muster a shot on target against 17 attempts from our opponents.
The 17 March is even more important now – a defeat could actually mean the season is practically over as the top 4 is now practically impossible. Ineos have got a job on their hands…Numquam Moribimur!
