Notts Forest 0
Man Utd 1
A late headed winner by Casemiro projected United into the QF of the FA Cup in a match which was not exactly a classic FA Cup tie. United struggled to create chances throughout the match and Forest did not have the quality to be clinical when they ventured forward despite causing panic in the United defence.
Bruno and Rashford disappointed yet again and in my opinion, and McTominay came close twice with headers while Antony was unlucky with an effort which clipped the crossbar. Nothing else really happened unless I had dosed off (yes it was boring in my book and I had a very particular day so I was knackered) until Casemiro popped up on the 90th minute to head in the winner from a Bruno free kick. A rare instant, United scoring from a set play!
We knew up front who United would be facing in the QF – Liverpool it is, and I just hope that we manage to win and knock them out for various reasons, not least to make sure that any dreams of a treble are quashed, but more importantly because we will go to Wembley to play a SF that can open the door to an FA Cup final. Bring on the 17th March…Numquam Moribimur!
