OK, it is now 5 matches without a win, our attacking tactics are mediocre, and so on, but I think that if there was one team that deserved the 3 points today it was United.
ETH started with Maguire and Evans at the back and Eriksen and Mainoo in the middle. Hojlund was preferred to Zirkzee and Garnacho and Rashford were on the wings. It was a determined performance, one has to say, but we seem devoid of ideas and Rashford got the early chance when he robbed the ball and ran through only to see his shot blocked. Bruno hit the bar in the second half but that pretty much was it although the stats will show more shots on target.
Villa beat Bayern this week but in all honesty I did not think we should have dropped 2 points today. The game was there to be won today and we lacked incisiveness in the box and going forward. Same old story.
United showed little promise going forward with Hojlund and later Zirkzee hardly getting a sniff at goal. This is going to be the main problem this season, in my opinion.
8 points from 7 matches is not good enough and the clock is ticking imho at this stage for ETH…Numquam Moribimur!
