A win before the international break

Man Utd 1

Luton Town 0

Victor Lindelof popped up with a winner in a match that saw United dominate possession and fail to capitalise on chances created.

United should have won this comfortably and the fact that we did not is down to the fact that our front players are struggling to find any decent form in front of goal. Some will argue that our build up play was still slow today and I would tend to agree, but Hojlund, Garnacho and Rashford all missed great chances that would have put the match beyond Luton’s reach.

The Luton keeper did come up with some decent saves but at the end of the day with was left to Lindelof to blast home the winner from inside the box on the hour mark. As normally happens, we got edgy when we had to see the match through in injury time and Maguire and Lindelof both conceded silly fouls on 97 and 98 minutes to make sure that all of us suffer till the end.

There has been some improvement in the general level of play recently, but we have to be more inventive and clinical going forward as the goals per match scored this season is really poor. Today I thought that Bruno played well and was our best player alongside with McTominay. There is much room for improvement, we all know this, and we also need a bit of luck on our side for a change! I won’t even bother to mention VAR and refereeing decisions…NUMQUAM MORIBIMUR!
