Defeat in Copenhagen

FC Copenhagen 4

Man Utd 3

This match will be remembered, in my memory, as the one we had already won and yet managed to lose. United ran into a two goal lead with 2 tap-ins from Hojlund within the first 30 minutes but then the match took a crazy turn. Rashford got sent off for a foul that was clearly not intentional but in today’s football, you’re off.

We needed to be tight in the remaining 15 minutes of the first half and contain but we first let a goal in just 2 minutes after the sending off, with Varane, on for Evans, giving too much room in the box. And then a bit of a harsh penalty saw the Danes make it 2-2 before HT.

We can argue as much as we want that the ref ruined the match but on 69 minutes Bruno gave the lead from a penalty and we have, once again, we did not hold on. Our defensive set up is simply not good enough. I do not know if winning the last 2 matches can give us any hope of qualifying but at the moment, winning against Luton on Saturday is more important…NUMQUAM MORIBIMUR!
