United edge past Bodo/Glimt

Manchester United 3
Bodo/Glimt 2

United edged Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in a Europa League clash at Old Trafford to keep their hopes of progressing in this competition alive. United started brightly and took an early lead in the 12th minute through Bruno who capitalized on a defensive mistake by Bodo/Glimt and fired home from close range.

As has happened so frequently this season, United allowed Bodo/Glimt back into the game just ten minutes later when we conceded an equalizer after some lax defending. It got worse, as the Norwegians took the lead in the 35th minute through Vetlesen.

United needed to react before halftime but went into the break trailing. In the second half we saw more determination and United equalised in the 55th minute when Garnacho brought us level with a well-timed run and finish following an incisive pass from Casemiro. Garnacho’s pace was proving difficult for Bodo/Glimt’s defense to handle as the Argentine found space time and time again to create problems for the opposing defence.

United finally took control in the 75th minute when Casemiro himself found the net after heading in following a corner by Bruno. Despite some late pressure from Bodo/Glimt, the United defence held firm to secure an important victory and keep the hope of advancing in the  Europa League alive…Numquam Moribimur!
