United crush Everton at OT

Man Utd 4

Everton 0

A resounding 4-0 victory over Everton at Old Trafford for the debut of Ruben Amorim in his first Premier League home match. The Red Devils displayed dominance throughout the game, with Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each netting two goals.

Early on, Everton showed some promise, but it was United who struck first. In the 34th minute, Rashford’s half-volley from a corner taken by Bruno was deflected off Branthwaite into the net. Just before halftime, Zirkzee doubled the lead, capitalizing on a mistake from Branthwaite (not his day) to finish from close range after another assist from Fernandes.

The second half saw United scoring two more goals. Rashford scored again just 20 seconds after the restart, finishing a swift counter-attack initiated by Amad. Zirkzee made it 4-0 in the 64th minute, converting another chance set up by Amad, who was the best player throughout the match.

United’s performance was characterized by some fluid passing and effective pressing, leaving Everton struggling to respond. It was a positive start for Amorim at OT but sterner tests are just round the corner…Numquam Moribimur!
