Top 4 spot – objective achieved

Man Utd 4

Chelsea 1

United have qualified for the CL after a 4-1 win against a Chelsea side that created a lot of chances in the first half but eventually fizzled out and United could have scored more towards the end.

Chelsea opened brightly with lot of a possession and where arriving in our box frequently. Too frequently for my liking, but we took the early lead when Casemiro headed home from a dead ball situation.

Despite plenty of possession by Chelsea and some anxious moments, we held on, and on the stroke of HT we got the tonic we needed. Casemiro sent Sancho through with an exquisite chip and Sancho squared it to Martial who could not miss such an invitation despite another opaque half.

I have to admit that 2-0 lead at HT was somewhat flattering. We conceded too much space in that first half and the second half was somewhat better. Chelsea started fading away and Bruno made it 3-0 from the penalty spot when he was brought down. Game over.

The returning Rashford made it 4-0 after Chelsea gifted us a goal but they still managed to get a consolation goal at the death. Objective achieved for ETH and his men for this season.

Let us hope we finish with a win on Sunday and get the 3rd spot…NUMQUAM MORIBIMUR!
