Man Utd 3
Leicester 0
United comfortably beat Leicester 3 at Old Trafford, marking a successful conclusion to Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim management. United captain Bruno Fernandes celebrated his 250th appearance by playing a crucial role in all three goals.
After early dominance by United, Bruno gave us the lead in the 17th minute, placing a low shot into the far corner after receiving a back-heel pass from Amad. Just before halftime, an own goal from Leicester’s Kristiansen, under pressure from Bruno, doubled United’s lead.
In the second half, United maintained control of the game despite an evident slower tempo. Garnacho sealed the victory with a stunning curling shot in the 82nd minute, and guess who was involved with the assist…Bruno.
This win lifted United to 15 points in the EPL – still lingering in the 13th place! As Ruben Amorim prepares to take over as head coach one simply wonders how some player seem rejuvenated now that ETH is gone! I keep thinking that our beloved club has allowed player power to become dominant and this will continue to undermine the managers and coaches. Let us hope that Amorim can take control and guide this team to at least a top 6 position this season. It would be an achievement…Numquam Moribimur.
