So it was a 2-1 comeback win over Fulham. The victory sees United equal the club-record of a 17-game unbeaten away run set by the 1999 Treble-winning side. It also restores the two-point lead at the top of the table ahead of City and Leicester, and 6 points above Liverpool. City have a game in hand. Hard to believe that last season Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished 33 points behind champions Liverpool. What a difference the signings of Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani have made.
My Man of the Match is Paul Pogba. Although at times he frustratingly ran into trouble, and was booked early on for a cynical foul, when he kept everything simple he was sensational. And then he went and won the game for United with a moment of magic. Like against Burnley, his one moment of brilliance has secured another crucial away win. Overall he was a huge influence on another important away win for United.
United’s next League games are a home game on Wednesday versus bottom side Sheffield United, and then off to London to play Arsenal on Saturday. Before that, we host Liverpool in the FA Cup this Sunday.
