As expected, United beat Wigan for the first win of 2024. The opposition was weak but we still gifted them the first chance in the match and Onana came to the rescue early on.
United started dominating and the first half should have seen us go into the dressing rooms with at least a couple of goals. Poor finishing and a bit of luck helped Wigan go into HT with only 1-0 deficit.
The second half saw less chances created but United made if 2-0 when Bruno was tripped in the box and he stepped up to beat the Wigan keeper from the spot.
I would say that Garnacho and Mainoo had good game in my opinion. The others were pretty average with Rashford again below average. At one point I ended up frustrated at the Bruno corners from which we have produced nothing all season. Hojlund should have at least got a double from missed chances…NUMQUAM MORIBIMUR!
