Notts Forest won at OT for the first time in 30 years after another dull performance by United who conceded the first goal from a corner after less than 2 minutes. The defensive set up for dead ball situations is simply embarrassing and needs to be seen to…as soon as possible!
An early goal can sometimes work in your favour. If the team reacts and puts in an extra shift, and in all honestly, I think there was a reaction of sorts and we equalised through Hojlund after 18 minutes. This will spur us on to a win, I thought. Nothing much happened till HT – 1-1. An inspiring HT talkl and some hot tea should do the trick – I hoped.
2 minutes into the second half, Bruno gives it away in midfield, and Forest score with a shot from outside the box with a shot that was swerving, but which went in right in the middle. Onana – not the greatest shot stopper is he!! 1-2 down but still all the second half to play. We can still turn it round. We went 1-3 down within the 55th minute. Letting crosses in, not getting headers, keeper lost in wonderland. How embarrassing!
Bruno’s goal on the hour should have given us the time to at least get a draw but this United side is defending badly and not creating enough chances to compensate for the goals that we keep giving away. It is not looking good…Numquam Moribimur!
