Amorim debuts with 1-1 draw at Ipswich

Ipswich Town 1

Man Utd 1

A 1-1 draw at Ipswich was not what Ruben Amorim would have hoped for in his debut at Man Utd manager. And yet, ha had the best start possible as Rashford poked United ahead within the first 2 minutes after a great run by Amad.

United failed to capitalise on the lead, however, and we let Ipswich back into the match instead of taking the match to them and getting a second goal. In reality we did not create much as Rashford playing in the striker role went completely absent after the early goal and the other United players were not much better.

Onana came up with a great save to keep us in the lead but could do nothing to stop the curler from Hutchinson on 43 minutes. It was a deserved equaliser as we had gone to sleep and Casemiro gave too much space. 1-1 at HT.

It was a balanced second half, we could have won it as we had a couple of chances that could have been exploited, especially with Garnacho. But we could have lost as well as Ipswich had their chances. NOt a great display and very clearly there is work to do for Ruben Amorim – a lot of work…Numquam Moribimur!
