ETH opted for Amad and Garnacho on the wings and Eriksen in the middle leaving out Rashford and Ugarte. I think we looked reasonably comfortable on the ball and dominated the first half. Henderson in the Palace goal made 3 important saves in the first 15 minutes. The first half ended 0-0 and the commentator said it was pretty much a mystery how the score was still 0-0.

The second half was more balanced, we struggled to create more chances and Onana had to pull of an incredible double save to keep the clean sheet. Overall I think we deserved to win but lacked being clinical when we needed to. Some supporters were complaining about Rashford not starting  – my take is that scoring 3 goals, 2 of which against Barnsley, should not guarantee any player a starting place. Rashford did come on and had 30 minutes to make a mark on the match – he was invisible, if we have to be honest!

Hojlund also came on and he will obviously need a bit of time to get in form. The way I see it is that we have 2 young strikers, promising, but none of them is going to get you 20+ goals this season in my opinion. I would go as far as predicting that they will struggle to get 20+ goals between them. So scoring goals is still going to be a problem this season once again, it seems. I hope I’m wrong!

There’s no beating around the bush here, these were 2 points dropped. If ETH wants to survive, he needs at least 20 points from the first 10 matches and I am not a mathematician but it is not looking good…Numquam Moribimur.
